ICW was born at the end of the New Order era, inspired by the movement to topple Soeharto, an authoritarian leader who had used his position to enrich his family and cronies.

ICW noted they are not ready to release the details since their tracking activities are still underway.

Head of Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) Commissioner General Budi Waseso insisted that the defamation case involving two Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) activists, Emerson Yuntho and Adnan Topan Husodo, is not a press offense. Accordingly, the police will move forward in accordance with the Criminal Law.
