Chairwoman of the Selection Panel for Leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Destry Damayanti, acknowledged that there still candidates having questionable track records among the remaining 19 candidates that have passed previous selection phases.

KPK consider the pretrial measures taken by senior advocate Otto Cornelis Kaligis – a suspect on bribery case for judges at Medan Administrative Court – a common legal procedures routinely taken by other corruption suspects. Thus, KPK would not be too concerned about the situation, especially after KPK had submitted Kaligis' case files to Jakarta Corruption Court.

Corruption Court verdicts no longer provides a deterrent effect and endorse the corruption eradication efforts. As part of the nation's corruption eradication system, the court also appear to be toothless and disappointing.

Former Chair of Commission VII at the parliament (DPR), Sutan Bhatoegana, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Corruption Court Panel of Judges. Sutan was ruled to have received money and gratification in relation to parliament sessions on 2013 State Budget Revision (APBNP).
