STATUS UPDATES

November 23

  • Novel Baswedan was absent in handover of suspects and evidence on the alleged persecution against thieves of swallow bird's nests from the Police to Attorney General's Office (AGO).

  • State Attorney General (Kejari) of Pangkalan Kerinci denied having named the suspects on the alleged corruption at State Electricity (PLN) of Pangkalan Kerinci, although the case have been in the prosecutors' hands since April 2015.

  • State Attorney General (Kejari) of Pekalongan, Central Java, questioned nine witnesses in the alleged corruption of road-bridge construction between Luragung and Bojongkoneng worth Rp. 1.7 billion.

  • KPK again questioned Deputy Chairman of Musi Banyuasin Local Council (DPRD), Islan Hanura in the alleged bribery on the council's 2014 accountability report (LKPJ) and the enactment of the 2015 budget for Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatera.

  • The suspect in an alleged corruption of T-Tower construction for Bank Jabar Banten (BJB) with state loss of around Rp 298 billion, Wawan Indawan, appealed for release in his defense plea.

November 24

  • Former parliamentarian from Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) faction, Adriansyah, was sentenced to 3 (three) years in prison and a fine of Rp 100 million, equal to another month incarceration. Adriansyah was the first member of DPR for the 2014-2019 who was found guilty of corruption.

  • Acting Regent of Lampung Timur, Tuahidi, along with three officials at Lampung Timur Regency Administration were examined by AGO investigators for the alleged corruption and money laundering from a 2012 school kit project for poor children at Lampung Provincial Education Office, worth an estimate Rp 6,5 billion.

November 25

  • RJ Lino, Executive Director of PT Pelindo II, underwent his third questioning as witness in the alleged corruption of 10 mobile cranes procurement.

November 26

  • Judges at Bandung Corruption Court sentenced non active Regent of Sumedang, Ade Irawan, to two years in prison after he was found guilty of 2011 travel funds misappropriation amounting up to Rp 5 billion at the City Council of Cimahi.

  • State prosecutors on a corruption case implicating former Regent of Aceh Barat Daya in 2007-2012, Akmal Ibrahim, filed an appeal to the Supreme Court on the alleged corruption of land procurement for an Elaeis Oil Palm Factory construction which caused state loss up to Rp 764.3 million.

  • Investigators from AGO's Special Crimes Deputy questioned the acting Governor of North Sumatera, Tengku Ery Nuradi, as witness in an alleged corruption of Social Aid fund (bansos) or grants at the Provincial Administration.

November 27

  • Regent of Morotai Island, Rusli Sibua, was sentenced to four years in prison and fined Rp 150 million after he was found guilty of bribing former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Akil Mochtar, in order to have a favorable verdict in an electoral dispute.
