"Police Push Three Names to Lead KPK"

Police have endorsed the Inspector General (IG) Yotje Mende, IG Syahrul Mamma, and IG (Ret) Benny Mamoto as candidates for KPK leadership. Police HQ considered these names to have proficient investigation skills. However, Adrianus Meliala of the National Police Commission, reminded the KPK selection panel to scrutinize all aspects of track records and capacity of each candidate. A candidate should not pass the selection so easily just because the have high ranks.
 

"NasDem Rejects Aspiration Fund"

The National Democrat Party have rejected the parliament's proposal on aspiration fund. Nasdem consider this proposal as a mere stratagem and not thoroughly studied, because the parliamentarians were only thinking of their own regions, not Indonesia as a nation. Furthermore, distribution of aspiration funds is contradictory to the principles of regional development fairness and equality.
 

"Bareskrim Regrets Bambang Drop Pretrial Appeal"

Bareskrim claimed to be disappointed by Bambang Widjojanto's decision to withdraw his pretrial appeal for the second time. Victor Simanjuntak of the Criminal Investigation Unit said that the Unit intended to explain the with which non-active KPK leader Bambang Widjojanto was detained and named as suspect. Bambang dropped his appeal because he could not see any sound argument and logic behind all other pretrial verdicts that were recently announced at the South Jakarta District Court. He would rather avoid a similar fate on his appeal.

Regent of Bantul, Sri Surya Widati, was reported to DIY Police by Yogyakarta NGO Forum on alleged corruption of KONI Bantul grants worth 12.5 billion. The NGO Forum have uncovered numerous findings to support their case, including ballooned financial statements and fictitious financial reports of Bantul local budget funds for Persiba. The police have named four suspects, but not all their cases have been submitted to the Corruption Court.
