A piece of Kiswah, the cover of Kaaba in Mecca, a black velvet laced with gold thread, was confiscated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to put Suryadharma Ali behind bars. Suryadharma denied the charges saying that the piece of kiswah have no economic value to enrich himself.

Analysts question the move made by former Mayor of Makassar Ilham Arief Sirajuddin, a suspect of alleged corruption in Local Water State Company (PDAM) of Makassar between 2006 and 2012, to appeal for supreme review on the pretrial verdict given on July 9, 2015. Many fear this move will cause law ambiguity as more pretrial appeals were recently filed by suspects of corruption.
