"KPK Law Revision Move Ahead at DPR"

Despite the President's rejection to revise Law No. 30 of 2002 about the Corruption Eradication Commission KPK and remove the proposal from National Legislation Program for 2015, DPR insist on moving ahead with their proposal. DPR argue that it is time to evaluate KPK and their wiretapping authority, which should not be practiced arbitrarily as a shortcut to arrest a suspect.

DPR Budget Chamber (Banggar) doubt aspiration fund program proposal will be accommodated in the draft budget for 2016. This is due to the lack of preparation and the divided opinion in DPR in regards to the proposal. Additionally, for effective implementation, the timing to gather development program proposals should be by the end of this June.

KPK asserted that there are still possibility of new suspects involved aside from four named suspects that had been arrested. The suspects were captured red-handed when two agency heads were allegedly bribing two local parliamentarians in relation to Regional Budget Revision Session of 2015. KPK are probing possibilities of any instruction from the suspects' superior officers regarding the bribery, namely Regent of Musi Banyuasin, Pahri Azhari.

Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim) is investigating the alleged corruption of high speed diesel fuel sales by TPPI to PLN. Dahlan Iskan's lawyer, Yusril Mahendra, claimed that Dahlan Iskan was only examined as a witness. Yusril said there were no mistakes in the fuel tender procedure that could end in corruption.

Three district councilmen from Commission E of DPRD DKI Jakarta were questioned as witnesses on the alleged corruption of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) procurement. They claim that the procurement adhere to procedure. State loss in this case was estimated around Rp 50 billion. Two officials who have been named as a suspect were Alex Usman and Zaenal Soleman.
