President Joko Widodo have made public his rejection the revision to Law No. 30 of 2002 about KPK as proposed by DPR. In fact, the government would revoke revision proposal altogether from the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) of 2015.

Continuous success of KPK's ambush arrest operations (OTT) have proven the effectiveness of KPK's wiretapping procedures. Recent OTT in Muba was the second successful OTT ever since the acting commissioners were appointed to lead the anti-graft body last February. The previous OTT was conducted last April on Adriansyah, parliamentarian from PDI-P, during the party's congress in Bali. KPK acting vice-chairperson Indriyanto Seno Adji was worried if KPK's wiretapping authority should be limited only during investigation, KPK can no longer perform OTT.
